Editorial - 'A Must for Survival'
Remember when there was the threat of a Soviet atomic bomb or hydrogen bomb? Over the years we learned how to get under our desks and build fallout shelters. Is it much different for the kids today what with "September 11th"? How our lives have changed. Once upon a time we were able to sign up for a course just because we wanted to learn how to fly a plane without having to learn how to take off or land - no more.
You Can't Hardly Get 'Em No More
Cartoon by Carole Rosenblatt
The cartoon shows a student at the school store asking "Got an electronic brain?"Little did we know then how computers would take over our world.
The Inquiring Photographer
By Tommy Wertheimer and Dave Klotzko
The question was "What are your baseball predictions for 1955?" The answers came from the usual Yankee-lovers and Yankee-haters. Who could have believed that the Red Sox could possibly have come from behind to win? Wait 'til this year.
Davis Daze
Remember when we laughed to the following jokes:
Conversation overheard between two chicks in an incubator: "Last one out is a rotten egg."
Who's your new cook? Della. Della who? Della Katessen.
First person: "I've got an idea."; second person: "Beginner's luck.

Hilltoppers Edged by Tech in City Championship
Rally Ends in Overtime Loss;
Lundy is Game's High Scorer
By Vic Fingerhut
The high scorer for the team was Ray Lundy again.
Spotlight on Sports
By Joel Dash
Joel gave his predictions for the World Series contenders - the Yankees against the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was right on the match-up and the Bums beat the Bombers for the first time. Do you remember the rivalry before the West Coast kidnapped the team?
Maroon Mermen Finish Year Under Coach Cox
By Andy Frank
You can tell by the headline that it wasn't that good a year - they just "finished" the year. The senior swimmers on the team were Richie Columbus, Andy DiDonato, Kenny Knight and Kurt Wehbring.
Minute Interviews
By Jerry Fischbach
Dick Columbus was a three-year letter winner on the swimming team.
Some of the Ads on the Third Page:
Howie Duffy's Service Station's motto was the good combination of 2 mechanics and 2 cents off each gallon - Who remembers what the price of gasoline was in 1955?
Genungs advertised photographs taken in the "Jean Sardou" way. - Who was Jean Sardou? He/she is not listed in a Google search.
There was an ad for Mr. Hamburg in Mount Vernon, NY. Nothing else. - Does anyone have a clue?
