Dr. Jordan L. Larson, Superintendent of Schools, expressed that the cost of the fire in the auditorium will be in excess of $10,000.
Fifteen Win Scholarship
Fifteen seniors won scholarships worth $350 per each of four-years in the New York State Regents College Scholarship contest.
Zelfman Given National Award
Linda Zelfman was awarded the National Honor Society $500 scholarship, one of five offered in the United States.

A book plate designed by Laura Lazar has been selected as a frontspiece for books given to the Davis Library in memory of former teachers.

Gloria Silverman and Pat Hilton, with an exhibit on the variations of the Goldschmidt Process, won first place in the Second South Eastern Science Congress Fair.
